Problems for Hearer Testimony: Can There Be Testimony Without Speaker-Intention?
My MSc dissertation in philosophy focussed on testimony, or natural testimony, the concept of knowledge as conveyed through the words of others.
I had the opportunity to discuss my conceptual analysis on what testimony is like and not like, with Jonathon Hardy on his podcast Another Problem Solved.
We also discussed how testimony relates to AI, implications of AI in society, and that philosophy is awesome, and we’d all be better off if society had more people philosophizing.
Its a long discussion but a great one!
I have also included a draft version of my paper in case you want to dig into my argument, one that has some holes for you to possibly exploit but one that also has home run potential 🙂 if I ever revisit the subject again.
